Over the past year, 7,500 Avera team members have contributed a collective total of more than $1.9 million through Avera Foundation. Their giving is deeply personal, reflecting their commitment to our ministry and their compassion for every patient who walks through our doors.
We asked our colleagues to share their why — what inspires them to go above and beyond the call of duty for our communities and for one another. Here’s what we heard:

“My grandson was severely injured and both of his parents passed away in a car accident. My grandson joined his parents a few weeks later. I was so overwhelmed with loss, but the assistance program helped me be with my grandson and family. I can’t think of a better way to say thanks and help others.
